NEW FORM OF FRAUD - ACAI BERRY - FREE SAMPLES

My mother always taught me to try to learn from someone else's mistakes and stop reinventing the wheel.

We are all being deluged with emails about the Acai berry and these free samples - just pay postage. Okay, one dummy, step up to plate.

Naive and trusting, I ordered my one week free sample for $3.99 hoping to see a wonderful difference in my life and go on to a lifetime supply of this fountain of youth and health.

I took the week's supply...felt no different...and said "oh well...I've done worse things with $3.99."

I know you're waiting for the other show to hit the ground and duck...here it comes!

I get a package in the mail with a bottle of 60 pills. I go on line and look at my credit card and they have charged my card an additional $74.99!!!!!!

First I called the c/c company and am disputing the charge but I know I will lose. I contacted Performance Products USA at acai.performanceproductsusa.com and was refered to their webpage buried among millions with a click on accept terms which has a negative marketing plan and they will continue to hit my card for $74.99 until I opt out of the program.

They also refuse to take it back "unopened" and could care less about anything I try to do. Because of their terms, no matter how well they hid them on their website and how unethical opt out programs are, the credit company will deny my dispute.

So, do your friends and associates and family members a HUGE favor...copy and send them this information so they do not fall into the same trap I did...let them learn their lessons the cheap and easy way...my lesson was far too expensive.

And by forwarding this to all who will listen, you will be helping me get the word out to these scam artists, that we are not going to take this entrapment lying down. Send to everyone you know....PLEASE?

I am a victim of this fraud and it isn't the only company out there. Because of this practice I am having to change my credit card to keep them from doing it again. They helped make my FIRST rent check in a new house bounce and so I am really pissed. Is there any recourse for us to take to get our money back. I haven't opened them and am going to send them back. :(

I really got scammed. I ordered my free trial of Acai berry and Colon cleans from that website that claims to be backed by Dr. Oz and CNN. I paid with my ATM card for the shipping and handling of about $11.00 for both. Didnt get the product for almost 25 days! The day I got it, I looked at my bank statement and two separate charges of 79.95 were charged along with four other charges of $4.69 (international charge). Oh it gets better, I then called the number, they had no info. on my account at all! Just wait, was the answer. So then I go to my bank the next day, and then three more charges of 80.95 were charged to my account along with the international fees. This all occurred in the time span of 45 days. I filed a claim with Bank of America and within 7 business days, their fraud department ruled in my favor and gave me all my money back. Thank God! I was so angry because it really put me in a major jam because I dont have almost $500 to just throw away like that! Those people should be punished! NEVER AGAIN will I order online using just my debit card. Maybe through paypal or a prepay credit card. It's too risky. Oh and I also had to change account numbers, order new checks, ect. What a nightmare! :(

I also was scammed by this company. I had my credit card company issue a new card and cancel the one used for this transaction. They can no longer collect. Then took it to the credit card company 'disputes' and had them unpay this scam artist.

DON'T FALL FOR THE FREE OFFER...

Acai Recharge sent me a thirty day supply, but when nothing happened after 23 day I asked to cancel the trial and was told that I would be charged an additional 80 dollars, because the trial period is only 15 days. Is there anything we can do about these people in Nevada?

Just got my bottle and charge in the mail. The website claims to accept returns and I am calling in the morning. Will continue to update you

Got scammed too. Acai Recharge (acairecharge.com) was the website. They charged me $80.87 on the day before the trial period ended. Not even a chance to call them, a-holes.

Credit card co was no help. Even though I didn't know this company would rip me off for $80, because it's listed in the tiny "terms and conditions", I'm screwed.
