I am always on the computer paying bills or browsing through
ebay to see what new deals i can get. One day when i was on the computer I saw an
advertisement for a
diet pill called the
acai berry. It claimed that it was featured on the
Oprah show and had also helped other
celebrities like
Britney Spears lose weight. The fee for the product was just shipping and handling of $5.95, so I decided to try it. So after I paid for the mercahandise, a week or two later I recieved the pill in the
mail. I eagerly opened the package and began looking for an instruction card. I was unable to find any directions. So, I began
taking the pills. After a week or so I wasn't feeling any different. I put the pills aside and forgot about them for awhile since after all i had only lost $5.95. About a week later I was checking my balance on my bank card, and noticed there was a
withdrawl of $88 and then some. I quickly began searching through my records only to find that in addition to my $88 charge I also had a $79 charge. I tried calling the
customer service number that was on my
receipt invoice only to find a
busy signal. My
two sisters also had purchased the "
free trial" and were charged outrageous dollar amounts without there authorization as well. They too began caling the
customer service number to try to recieve a refund and cancel the product. Only one of my sisters was able to get through, and the company would not let her cancel and only continued to try to sell her more phony products. I did reserach on the internet to try to see if this was a major scam, and found that tons of other people had been through the same
ordeal. My sisters and I ended up having to completely change our
bank accounts and put blocks on our accounts, as it was the only way to stop the company from taking
money from us.

I went through the same ordeal. Today I get a call saying that I owe more money, and if I don't pay it, they'll turn me over to a collection agency. I asked them to send me a bill and then I hung up. He called back and said "your $44 debt kist became $134. The third party will collect." I told him I had asked for a bill, and he hung up. What now????
