I saw the add on MySpace with the support of several well known companies as well as celebrities like Eva Longoria. I actually sat there and read most of the facts stated on the website and it seemed very reasonable. BYet what really caught my eye was that it said it was featured in Oprah show and that Dr. Oz had spoke wonders about it. The reviews were great and I figure, a free trial, what do I have to loose?
The answer was a lot. I wasted my time, my husbands time. I wasted my money and my day was completely ruined. I was angry and I felt seriously stupid because even though I had always avoided this kinds of scams I still fell for it.
Anyhow, I ordered my pills and was actually excited when I first got them, but when I opened them I realized they had sent the wrong pills. I received the Extreme Acai Berry Tablets and not the Acai Berry Power 500 that I had seen advertised on the MySpace add. When I first bought them I had read that there was a very considerable difference between them, so I decided to call the company to see about getting the correct pills.
Needless to say I read the notice they sent with the pills and read about the fact that they would charge my credit card $89.39 every 31 days, if I didn't cancel over the phone before the trial period ended (within 14 days).
That would not have been a problem if they were not so sneaky and answered the phone lines. First call, someone answered acted like there was bad connection and disconected. How convenient.
Second call I was on hold for over 20 minutes then disconnected again. Third, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, call the line was busy. These calls are not on a toll free line, so we know that my phone bill is racking up and there is no other form of contact. Not an address, not a fax number, not even an e-mail address.
Seventh and Eight were disconnected 5-10 minutes after the main introduction. The Ninth and Tenth call held again for over 20 minutes on each and then I was disconnected again. I then decided to get my husband to call the bank to file a dispute, but somehow that would not solve the problem.
We ended up having to cancel our card and issue a new one. It became a big problem because now we had to make sure that every and each automatic payments we had set up on it would be transferred to the new account and since it was both a credit card and an ATM we will be without any direct access to money until a new one is issued.
I was at my wits end but still I made my eleventh call. I waited for 26 minutes and finally got a person on the line, at this point I was so over the whole issue, I told them to cancel my order right off the bat and explained all that I had to go through up until that moment. They gave me a cancellation number which I saved.
Whether or not they truly canceled the orders or not, I still don't know, but I am left with a very sickened feeling and I doubt if I ever will chance any other products out in the market again, which is truly sad for those companies out there who trying to make an honest buck.
i am also just trapped by this scam, i called them at 8am, fortunately, they picked up the phone and gave me the cancellation number..but i'm still so worrying they would still charge on my cc and still waiting for my trial, it's 6th day
I also ordered the free trial and when I attempted to call I had to make 2 attempts. The second time I sat on hold for 28 minutes. She gave me a confirmation number as well, and 6 weeks later I am charged $80.00 in two payments. One for 30.00 nad one for 50.00. I had to cancel my credit card, and Im not sure if I can get the 80.00 back. Im am so furious about this scam!!. I wish I had seen these sites before doing it, but I though hey Oprahs raving about it, it must be good! Ill never be this stupid again!
hi, i seen the pills on myspace and ordered them. waited for 9 days then got them, now i have to call my bank to get them to stop taking my money. im not very happy with these people
If you have ordered it already, this is my suggestion. CANCEL your card. This is the only way for me since I never reached a customer service representative to cancel future payments of this bottle. They can't send you anymore bottles if they can't charge your account.
I ordered on myspace on Oct 16th and still waiting. Been trying to call, line is always busy or the call just automatically drops. When is the best time to call that number?
I made the mistake of paying for the “Free Sample, pay shipping and handline only” and WHAT a nightmare. I tried to call the company so many times and either I get a busy tone or I get put on hold for 20, 30, 40 minutes. Its really Bull****. I called my credit card company and they told me that they can not stop any payments from coming out but when it DOES come out to call them back and they will tried and dispute it… what if they can’t. I’m so frustrated for falling for a stupid scam!
I order Acai Berry Power 500 Oct 12th and its been 8 days i have not received my free trial. I am very upset I think this is a scam my product is not here and when I call there customer service line I cant get through and its always busy. Dont trust any free trials.
